In the quiet and calmness of the night when every being is fast asleep, busy in their own dreams good or evil, the sound of Shambhu, his lathi echoes through the stillness. Shambhu, the watchman of the village was happy with his villagers, sharing their happiness and sorrow. But misfortunes follow man where-ever he goes and there comes a time when these misfortunes come face to face. Shambhu, who gave light of this youth caring for the villagers lives and materials, did not know that his own adopted sister's life was darkened by the Jagirdar, Surti, Shambhu's sister, committed suicide to hide herself form shame after giving birth to a girl (Radha). She requested her brother not to open the secret to anybody. Poor Shambhu helplessly saw his sister dying but could do nothing. 

It is said that the good and bad are rewarded here. After Jagirdar's death, his son Gopal, who was brought up in the city and was following his father's foot-steps, came to the village and fell for Radha's beauty on first sight. Fate had brought brother and sister on these undesirable circumstances. When Shambhu came to know of this his passive emotions became active, the time quiet volcano in his heart erupted, there followed a battle between the good and evil, in the end the good emerged surpassing all evil. Gopal and the villagers realized Shambhu's greatness, his words once again echoed in their minds:
